Graham Potter gives hilariously brutal reason why he arrived late for Chelsea presser, everyone burst out laughing

Graham Potter poked fun at himself in a brilliant moment.

Graham Potter hilariously apologised for being late to his Chelsea press conference because he was in a 'crisis meeting'.

It comes after reports claimed a 'crisis meeting' was held at Chelsea this week following the club's terrible run of form, which includes a home defeat to bottom of the league Southampton last weekend.

The Evening Standard stated that talks have been talking place between Potter and members of his first-team staff in a bid to turn their fortunes around amid a string of defeats across different competitions.

Before their defeat to the Saints in the Premier League, Potter's side suffered a crushing 1-0 loss at Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

And ahead taking charge of a big league fixture against London rivals Tottenham, the Chelsea boss made a joke in reference to the reports of a 'crisis meeting'.

Once he took his seat at his pre-match press conference, he said: "Afternoon! Sorry I'm late guys, I've just come out of a crisis meeting."

A reporter said: "How was it?" To which Potter replied: "Well, I'm still here."

Speaking during his presser, Potter revealed he has spoken to the board and received their support.

"I've spoken to them. It’s the same as always. There’s always been support," he said.

"I've been under pressure for four months, [Their support] continues. They've been great.

"They see where we're at, but are frustrated because we have to do better."

On Chelsea's defeat to Southampton, he added: "When you lose to the bottom side and you are Chelsea it's completely OK [to be criticised]. Results haven't been good enough. [The fans] are entitled to be angry."

Chelsea, who haven't won a league game since January 15, currently occupy 10th place in the table, with 31 points on the board.

They travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to face fourth-placed Spurs in a huge showdown on Sunday.
