Wrexham co-owners Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds made their commentary debuts on Sky Sports during the side’s Championship clash against Swansea City on Friday (13 March), with the North American duo having to follow one strict rule.
Since completing their takeover of the club in February 2021, Reynolds and Mac’s ownership has coincided with Wrexham gaining three successive promotions under the tutelage of head coach Phil Parkinson.
The Red Dragons are currently chasing promotion to the Premier League and started the evening in sixth.
The top two teams automatically gain promotion to the English top flight, while teams finishing third to sixth enter the play-offs, which consist of a two-legged semi-final before a Wembley showdown that ultimately decides the third team to gain promotion.

And despite no doubt being nervous about watching their beloved Wrexham, Mac and Reynolds also had commentary duties to deal with during Friday’s match at the Racecourse Ground.
Ahead of kick-off, the actors were interviewed on Sky Sports, with the pair admitting they were “terrified” at the prospect of commentating on the live action.
However, they were given a simple rule to follow.
Mac posted a photograph of himself pointing towards a sign which read: “Don’t say f***.”
The actor also captioned the post: “There’s only one rule tonight.”

Fans were quick to offer their thoughts on the duo’s commentary skills on social media, with several complimenting the pair’s delivery.
One said: “It’s quite refreshing to hear Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac on commentary for the Welsh derby tonight instead of the usual s**t we have to put up with.”
Another added: “Ryan Reynolds doing comms with Rob Mac?! Unbelievable combo. Hollywood star + proper football talk = must-watch TV tonight! Let’s go.”
However, a third was not so kind and commented: “I don’t mind these two, but keep these guys as far away from commentary as possible.
“Amazing what being famous can get you these days, and Sky all over it, of course, all the while ripping people off. These lot were playing Sunday league football not too long ago.”
As a fourth praised: "This Wrexham & Swansea game has actually been pretty decent, Even decided to go with the Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney commentary, which is also better than I expected."
Wrexham return to action away at Watford on 17 March.
