Fans gave their thoughts after watching Wrexham legend Paul Mullin’s interview following the completion of his season-long loan move to Wigan Athletic.
Mullin, 30, completed a season-long loan move yesterday as Wrexham released a statement to confirm the news, which read: “Wrexham AFC can confirm striker Paul Mullin has joined Wigan Athletic on loan until the end of the 2025/26 season, pending clearance.
“The striker will join up with the Latics for their Sky Bet League One campaign, having scored five goals in 32 games in all competitions last season on his return to action after back surgery.”

Of course, the Liverpudlian is a cult hero at Wrexham and is arguably one of their greatest players, having played his part in three consecutive promotion-winning campaigns.
Manager Phil Parkinson, who has coached Mullin since 2021, also wished the forward well at Wigan.
He said: “I’d like to wish Paul all the best for his loan move.

“It’s a good opportunity for him to get back to playing regular first-team football, and I’m sure he’s going to be a great signing for Wigan Athletic.”
The player also gave an interview and cut a visibly emotional figure, and admitted that it was “sad to leave Wrexham” during the chat with Wigan’s official website.
Fans also gave their thoughts on the move.
One said: "I can only imagine he's going to have a team built around him, so he's going to absolutely bang them in next season. Love you SPM."

Another added: "Tough to watch...was a fan favourite. Delivered in non-League, and League Two and was only outperformed by Macauley Langstaff at Notts (who won both Golden Boot awards)."
A third explained: "I'm genuinely angry about this development. I get it, but it p****s me off all the same."

While a fourth commented: "An amazing role-model on and off the football field. Wigan have got themselves a legend.
"Thank you for all the memories Paul and all the best on the upcoming League One Season.
"I JUST DON'T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH YOU WILL BE MISSED."
It is unclear if Mullin could still return to the fold at Wrexham given the fact he is contracted to the Red Dragons until June 2027.
