Wrexham fans are in shock after hearing that the club has received a massive £14.3million as the club continues to chase promotion to the Championship.

Ever since Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney take ownership of the club back in 2020, Wrexham have been on a historic rise through the EFL.

In the two full seasons overseen by the new owners, the Red Dragons have secured incredible back-to-back promotions up to League One.

And as they chase yet another promotion up to the Championship, it has been revealed that Wrexham have received a huge £14,000,000 cash injection, and fans are excited.

With just 12 matches left in the League One season, Wrexham currently sit third in the league, two points behind Wycombe who will secure automatic promotion should they maintain their lead over Phil Parkinson's side.

Having built up a gap of 11 points between themselves and eighth-placed Reading, it appears almost certain that Wrexham will, at the very least, have a shot at securing promotion through the play-offs.

But this isn't the only good news for fans of the Welsh club, as it was recently revealed that the club has received a huge £14.3million investment.

The details of the investment were officially revealed online by Companies House, with records showing the sale of a single share, which was valued at only £1, for a breathtaking £14,297,724.82.

Reacting to the news on social media, one fan wrote: "A lot of cash injection coming. If the team isn't promoted they will make massive push for championship next year., but if we're in the championship we will need more cash to avoid relegation."

While another excited fan added: "Oh don't you know, pump it up, the reds are rich as f***."

And one frustrated fan sarcastically added: "Fairytale story."

While it's not yet been confirmed what the investment will be used on, it comes shortly after news that the Welsh club received planning permission for a new 5,500-capacity Kop stand to be built at the Racecourse Ground.

It is also yet to be confirmed who has purchased the stock for such an incredible amount, however the Allyn family from New York appear to be the most likely candidates after they became minority shareholders in the club in October.
