UEFA Make Major Error on Official Website Ahead of Real Betis vs Forest

UEFA has made a major error on its website ahead of Real Betis' match with Nottingham Forest.

Nottingham Forest have had a strange start to the season.

The club should be celebrating after an impressive 2024/2025 Premier League campaign that saw them shine under Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Portuguese coach guided Forest into the UEFA Conference League and, after a series of controversial behind-the-scenes decisions by the governing body, they were promoted to the Europa League at the expense of FA Cup holders Crystal Palace.

However, things have taken a turn for the worse in recent weeks.

Espirito Santo is now gone, sacked by Evangelos Marinakis after a 3-0 loss against Premier League strugglers West Ham.

That was even though Forest had also recorded a draw against Crystal Palace and a win over Brentford in their opening three Premier League fixtures, with a behind-the-scenes fallout with global head of football Edu Gaspar cited as one of the main reasons for the Portuguese's exit.

The club subsequently replaced the former Wolves and Tottenham boss with Australian manager Ange Postecoglou.

Postecoglou had a controversial spell with Spurs that saw him finish 17th and win the UEFA Europa League during his last season in North London.

He has not got off to an ideal start, though.

Forest are still without a win since Postecoglou’s arrival, having drawn with Brentford and fallen to defeats against Arsenal and Swansea City.

Postecoglou will be hoping to change that when his side takes on Real Betis in their first Europa League match of the season on Wednesday evening.

However, an error on the club's squad page of the UEFA website seems to suggest their luck won’t be changing any time soon.

As of Tuesday, the UEFA squad list page still states that Espirito Santo is the manager of Forest rather than Postecoglou, with the error emerging as Forest made an 11th-hour change to their squad for the league phase.

That is despite the Portuguese coach being sacked from the role over a fortnight ago.

Forest are currently 15th in the Premier League table despite a busy summer in the transfer market.

Their next Premier League fixture will be against Sunderland at the City Ground on Saturday.

Espirito Santo is still out of work despite being linked with a host of Premier League clubs, including Wolves and West Ham.
