Punter Wins Life-Changing Amount With Incredible Champions League Accumulator

The first round of the Champions League came to a close on Wednesday night.

One lucky punter came away with a huge amount of money after winning a bet on the UEFA Champions League.

On Wednesday night, the eighth and final matchday of the first phase of the Champions League took place, with all 36 teams kicking off at the same time.

It turned out to be a brilliant night for Premier League clubs, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester City sealing automatic qualification for the round of 16.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United secured a play-off spot after a 1-1 draw against defending champions Paris Saint Germain at the Parc des Princes.

There were also a few shock results, with La Liga giants Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid losing to Benfica and Bodo/Glimt respectively.

With 18 matches all kicking off at the same time, punters have been testing their luck by putting on Champions League accumulators.

One lucky punter won £15,082.69 from £775 after thanks to a seven-fold accumulator.

As shown on the bet slip, the lucky fan had a variety of different bets.

For example, over 2.5 goals in Liverpool vs Qarabag, Benfica vs Real, Club Brugge vs Marseille and Atletico vs Bodo/Glimt.

In addition, the punter also needed Spurs to beat Eintracht Frankfurt, and both teams to score in Athletic Club vs Sporting Clube de Portugal and Napoli vs Chelsea.

Reacting on social media, one fan said: "What a win this is. Take a bow."

Another tweeted: "Like clockwork."

A third fan added: "Boooommm."

Someone else wrote: "Club Brugge was a sweat."

A fifth commented: "This was sweet. It was the smallest chance and my only win of the day."

On Thursday night, many punters will be trying their luck again as the first phase of the UEFA Europa League come to a close.

The likes of Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Lyon, Rangers and Celtic are all in action as 18 matches kick off at the same time once more.
