Thomas Frank believed that only one of his Tottenham players could play for a 'really elite European team', according to a new report, as the fallout continues over his recent sacking.
On Wednesday morning, Frank was relieved of his duties following the club's 2-1 home defeat against Newcastle, a result that took their run without a Premier League win to eight matches.
The 52-year-old, who only joined Spurs in July last year following a successful stint at Brentford, was on a run of only two wins in 17 league matches when the club announced their decision to part ways.
Spurs said they had been "determined" to give Frank the time and support needed to build for the future, but results and performances led them to make a change they deemed "necessary".

Since the sacking, details around his spell at the North London club have emerged, with one source claiming that members of the squad had become tired of Frank's fixation with Premier League leaders Arsenal.

"He was constantly going on to the players about Arsenal and they quickly got sick of it," the source told The Telegraph. "Even before and after the game at the Emirates, he was telling them how good Arsenal were. The feeling among some was very much 'just shut up about Arsenal',"
Now, a report from The Times has suggested his belief in the quality of his squad was far from strong.
In fact, the Dane believed only full-back Pedro Porro could play for a 'really elite European team' as the club's inability to get certain deals over the line, including Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze, was highlighted.
Back in February last year, when Frank was still in charge of Brentford, he compared Porro to former Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Speaking after Brentford's 2-0 defeat to Spurs, Frank said: “I know they haven’t had their best season but look at their line-up. Just take their front three - I think a lot of clubs would have taken them any day.
“Their midfield? (Dejan) Kulusevski, (Rodrigo) Bentancur, (Yves) Bissouma. That’s a very, very, very, very good Premier League midfield.
“And then I know they haven’t had a centre-back but maybe (Archie) Gray and Ben Davies played their best defensive game of the season (against Brentford). They were great."

Frank added: “(Pedro) Porro is fantastic at right-back. He’s got Trent-ish offensive qualities. And Spence has done very well.”
