Fans were left stunned after Thierry Henry violated former club Arsenal live on CBS Sports.

Henry scored 228 goals across two spells with the Gunners and won two Premier League titles, as well as claiming two Golden Boots and establishing himself as one of the best players in the world with a third-place Ballon d'Or finish in 2003.

The World Cup winner left for Barcelona in 2007 but returned on loan in 2011 and has always remained a huge supporter of his ex employers.

But on CBS' Champions League coverage, Henry wasn't afraid to aim a dig at Arsenal.

For the 'Golazo' show, CBS ran a poll on their social media accounts to determine who was the viewers' favourite out of Henry, host Kate Abo and pundits Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards.

Former Manchester City star Richards, with his innate infectious laugh, came top of the Instagram section with 53 per cent of the votes.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Abdo emerged victorious with 32.2% of the votes. Henry was the runner up, beating Richards by a slim margin of 0.2% - and he likened himself to Arsenal after they finished second to Manchester City in the Premier League for the past two seasons.

"I'm just like Arsenal, second best every time," he quipped.

Overall, with the two polls combined, Richards was the winner with a whopping 47% of the votes and he promptly celebrated by performing the 'Carlton' dance from Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Fans reacted to Henry's surprise joke at the expense of Arsenal, with one writing: "Ooh self burn."

Another said: "Friendship with Arsenal ended."

A third added: "There were times when Arsenal were being made fun of being the 4th best so being the 2nd best is great progress from the club."

A fourth simply stated: "Henry got jokes."
