Thierry Henry has been called out for an awkward moment involving Christian Pulisic following Liverpool's Champions League win over AC Milan.

CBS Sports began their coverage for the new-look Champions League on Tuesday night, with Henry joining Kate Abdo, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards in the studio.

The panel mainly focused on Liverpool's 3-1 victory over Milan at San Siro, which saw Pulisic open the scoring for the home side early on before goals from Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai secured an impressive win for Arne Slot's side.

Pulisic fronted up to the media after the defeat and a clip of his post-match interview with the CBS panel has since gone viral on social media.

Things got off to an awkward start after Richards referred to the former Chelsea winger as 'Captain America' before Jamie Carragher quickly added: "They got beat."

When asked to sum up his thoughts on the game, Pulisic replied: "It was a good start to the game to get a goal, but yeah it's extremely disappointing for us to concede goals like we did in the first half on set pieces.

"They made it difficult for us all game, so obviously I'm disappointed."

Following further questions from Richards, Carragher and Abdo, Henry was then encouraged to get involved in the conversation.

But the former Arsenal and Barcelona striker simply shook his head and said no before looking down at the desk, with the studio falling silent for a brief moment.

Abdo quickly looked to move the conversation on but the awkward atmosphere remained.

Fans were quick to react to the bizarre moment, with some on social media calling out Henry for his behaviour.

"Just flat weird behaviour from Thierry Henry during this Pulisic interview. Strange and awkward," posted one fan on X.

While another replied: "We thought the same! Wouldn't ask him a question or look at the screen."

But other fans defended Henry, believing his behaviour was a result of the line of questioning from the rest of the panel.

"I took it as Henry embarrassed by his colleagues questions about the USMNT when this game had nothing to do with it," posted one fan.

"I thought they were amateurish questions and almost patronising. I've never seen another player after a Champions League match asked about the new national manager."

While another fan wrote: "I think he realised how awkward the whole interview was. They're asking all these NT questions when his club got thumped.

"Pulisic seemed annoyed, Thierry seemed embarrassed by the rest of the crew."
