Thierry Henry has already told the world what Zinedine Zidane has been waiting for as Manchester United rumours resurface following Erik ten Hag's sacking.

It was confirmed on Monday morning via a club statement that Ten Hag had been relieved of his duties as Manchester United manager with immediate effect.

United sit 14th in the Premier League table after earning just 11 points from their first nine games, only scoring eight goals in the process.

Ten Hag had guided United to their second consecutive worst-ever start to a season, however, club captain Bruno Fernandes insisted he was sad to see the Dutchman leave in a new statement.

Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach until a permanent boss is appointed, with Sporting's Ruben Amorim the odds-on favourite for the job.

However, since the news one name has been on everyone's lips, and that's Zinedine Zidane.

The former Real Madrid boss is currently 14/1 to take over at Old Trafford, but former Arsenal star Henry has already revealed what he thinks his former teammate will do.

Henry told CBS Sports: “I’m not going to go there, I think he is waiting for the national team. So I’m not going to go there. I don’t think he will go there [Juventus]. I think he is waiting for one thing and one thing only and that’s the national team.

Henry believes that the insane success he had during his spell in Madrid, has put off Zidane from getting back involved with club management as he has already achieved so much.

“You won three Champions Leagues with Real Madrid, why are you going to bother with other clubs when you can have the national team? I wouldn’t," he explained.

“I don’t actually know but Zizou has been waiting. He’s been linked with a lot of clubs and it never happened. I don’t think Zizou would want to do it, I can see him waiting for the national team and it makes total sense.”

Zidane has previously stated that the 'language barrier' has put him off getting involved with an English side in the past, but it is unknown if the Frenchman would be open to a move now.
