Sky Sports debut new graphics for 2025/26 football season and fans are not happy

The new graphics debuted during the League One clash between Luton and AFC Wimbledon.

Sky Sports debuted new graphics for the 2025/26 football season during Luton's 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon on Friday night.

League One action kicked off the new EFL season on Sky Sports, with Matt Bloomfield's recently-relegated side picking up a narrow victory.

Luton were still playing in the Premier League 15 months ago, but now have to pick up the pieces in the third tier.

It wasn't a match packed with chances - only one shot on target was shared between the two sides - and the Hatters won through an 85th-minute own goal.

Fans watching the encounter on Sky Sports noticed a small change to the presentation, which appears to have been replicated across the broadcaster.

One of the changes that has gone down well is an increase in the text size to make it easier for viewers to see.

But a new scoreboard graphic also debuted on Friday night - and the reaction was more mixed.

The scoreboard graphic now features each club badge and the abbreviations.

Gone are the colour fills that were used to quickly differentiate between each side, replaced by a much smaller section on the left and right side of the graphic.

It is unclear whether a similar graphic will be introduced for the Premier League, which has simply shown club badges in recent seasons instead of the club abbreviations.

Fans made their feelings clear on the latest change on Friday night.

One simply wrote: "This new Sky Sports scoreboard graphic is horrid."

A second said: "The letter scoreboard was so good imo, nice and simple but also not confusing."

A third noted: "The red in the middle makes me think it's added time all game."

And a fourth fumed: "Instead of fixing the ugly Prem one they've gone and ruined the EFL one. Might be their worst one ever."

But other fans didn't mind the change, with one writing: "Quite like it personally. See no issue, feels a bit busy though."

And a second added: "I must be the only one that likes it."
