Richard Keys fired a brutal 'not good enough' dig at a Sky pundit as he took aim at lower-league footballers.
The dig came about following the recent retirement of Jordan Rhodes, who played nearly 600 matches in his professional career, but never featured in the Premier League.
It prompted Bill Edgar from The Times to write an article listing the greatest players to have never played in the top-flights of Europe's five biggest leagues: England, Spain, Italy, Germany and France.
Although Rhodes earned 14 caps for Scotland, he spent his career in the lower-tiers.

Edgar suggested several other notable names on his list.
Among them was Simon Garner, who was a prolific goal scorer at Blackburn Rovers, where he bagged 162 times.
Although he came close to reaching the Premier League, he was part of a Rovers team that lost in the play-offs for three consecutive years in the late 1980s.

The list also included Ross McCormack, who scored 120 goals in the Championship and won 13 Scotland caps.
McCormack was also the subject of some big-money moves, with Fulham signing him for £9 million and Aston Villa striking a £12 million deal for the Scotsman.
The article also mentioned Don Goodman, a former striker who has become a familiar face through his role as a commentator for Sky TV.
But Keys did not hold back in his response.

He screenshotted Edgar's article and took to X to issue a blunt verdict.
He wrote: "If they'd been good enough they would've done."
Who is Don Goodman?
Goodman began his senior career with Bradford City in 1984, where he contributed to the team' promotion to the second tier.

His performances earned him a move to West Bromwich Albion in 1987, where he scored 60 goals in 158 appearances for the Baggies.

In 1991, Goodman made the move to Sunderland for a then club-record fee of £900,000.
After three seasons, he returned to the Midlands and joined Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he went on to play more than 100 games .

The later stages of his career were less successful, as he had several short spells at different clubs.
After a brief spell in Japan, he had unsuccessful loans at Barnsley and Motherwell, before he made a permanent switch to Scotland in 1999.
He finished his career playing in England for Walsall, Exeter City, Doncaster Rovers and Stafford Rangers.
Since retiring from professional football, Goodman has worked for Sky Sports as a commentator.
