Sean Dyche lands new job two months after Everton sacking with multiple offers on the table

The 53-year-old parted company with Everton on January 9 and has since been out of work.

Sean Dyche has landed himself a new job just over two months after parting company with Everton.

Dyche, 53, lost his job as head coach of Everton on January 9 and was dismissed just hours before an FA Cup third-round tie against Peterborough at Goodison Park.

During his two-year spell at the Toffees, he made an instant impact in his first season and kept the club in the Premier League in a relegation-threatened 2022/23 campaign.

The following season, he successfully retained the club's top-flight status again despite them being issued two points deductions.

However, during the first half of the 2024/25 season he oversaw a torrid run of results of just three wins in 19 league games.

Since then, he has been linked with several coaching roles but admitted he has enjoyed watching his son, Max, play for Northampton Town.

"I'm open to ideas at this stage,” Dyche told talkSPORT on Friday.

“I've been in the game a long time. I've been in the Premier League for ten years," he added.

"As you know, the game is so fast now. I've had lots of offers from media - which I'm considering.”

And despite not making a return to the dugout just yet, the 53-year-old has, in fact, landed a new role with UK sports radio station talkSPORT.

"I'm happy to be doing a bit for talkSPORT and Jonny, who is a friend of mine and very knowledgeable on football and life in general,” Dyche explained. "So I'm looking forward to that.

"You never know what will come around. Football is a strange business. It changes very quickly and the viewpoint changes quickly as well.

"You spend some time out of the game, and suddenly you become a better manager without managing. Because people go, 'They need that guy'.

"We'll wait and see. I'm open-minded at the minute. And actually, I'm just really enjoying taking a breath on things... waking up in the morning and just letting the day unfold in front of me.

"It's simple stuff. Just day-to-day life that you miss out on."

Dyche’s first show will be aired on Sunday 23 March from 12 to 2 pm.
