Wrexham co-owner and Hollywood actor Rob McElhenney once refused to answer a personal question about the club.

Back in February 2021, McElhenney and fellow Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds completed a £2million purchase of fifth-tier side Wrexham in what is now a historic deal.

Since then, the Red Dragons have secured promotion in three successive seasons, booking their place in the EFL Championship next season, with their eyes firmly set on making it to the Premier League.

Throughout his time with Wrexham, McElhenney has been relatively open about his journey with the Welsh club, taking part in several interviews and being a part of a dedicated Disney+ series following the team.

However, there was one question about Wrexham that McElhenney was not prepared to answer during a recent appearance on popular YouTube series 'Hot Ones.'

In the latest episode of the Hot Ones Versus series, McElhenney appeared alongside Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton, his co-stars in the popular comedy TV series 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.'

The concept of the episode allowed the Wrexham owner's fellow actors to ask him whatever question they wanted, and if McElhenney refused to answer honestly then he would have to eat a seriously spicy chicken wing.

And they made the most of this brutal challenge, as they asked the 48-year-old which of Wrexham, ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ and Four Walls, an Irish American Whiskey brand he formed with his co-stars, had been the most profitable venture.

“Eat the wing, dude. Don’t let people know that, that’s your personal information,” Day immediately said.

Smiling, McElhenney agreed, admitting that he just doesn’t want his co-stars to know the answer to the brutal question.

Luckily for McElhenney, he handled the hot wing like pro and didn't even flinch before admitting that it wasn't as bad as the infamous 'Da Bomb' sauce.

How much money has Rob McElhenney made at Wrexham?

Despite the massive success Wrexham have enjoyed in recent years, their recent financial records from the 2023-24 season revealed that the club posted a £2.7million loss.

However, this isn't a massive surprise given the money that the club will have spent to secure their rapid progression through the English football pyramid.

But it's not all losses for McElhenney and co-owner Reynolds, as a recent assessment by football finance expert Kieran Maguire stated that Wrexham's value could rise to £150million after securing promotion to the Championship.

If true, this would be a massive valuation increase of 7,400% since the Hollywood duo purchased the Welsh club four years ago.
