Real Madrid fans have been reacting on social media after seeing what the club posted immediately after Barcelona sealed the La Liga title.

On Thursday night, Barcelona arrived at the RCDE Stadium to take on local rivals Espanyol, knowing a win would seal a 28th top flight title.

During the first half, the match was temporarily halted by the referee after an incident outside the stadium.

A video was posted on social media which showed a car knocking down several fans, it was later confirmed that the incident took place before kick-off.

Speaking on ITV Sport, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague reported that four people had been seriously injured and had been taken to hospital, along with a further nine injuries.

On the pitch, Barcelona got the job done after goals from Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez secured a 2-0 win, clinching the La Liga title.

Moments after Barcelona's title was secured, rivals Madrid took to social media and wrote: "Enhorabuena al @FCBarcelona por la Liga 2024-2025," which translates to: "Congratulations to @FCBarcelona for the 2024-2025 League."

Reacting on the post, some Madrid fans were left unimpressed, one said: "Delete this, thank you."

Another tweeted: "Not acceptable."

A third fan added: "In pain."

Reflecting on Barcelona's title win, manager Hansi Flick said after the match: "I think the second part of the season has been incredible.

"We haven’t lost any games. I congratulate the team, the club and the fans. It’s been incredible. It’s always important to be mentally strong. What we have trained after the winter break has helped us."

He added: "Also winning the Super Cup gave us confidence. The players have reached their highest level, like Frenkie (De Jong) and others have improved.

"I know what the situation is with respect to what happened two years ago and I wanted to celebrate it inside."

Barcelona will be back in La Liga action on Sunday when they take on Villarreal at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, they will then round off their season next weekend at the San Mames against Athletic Club.
