An eyewitness has revealed what they saw prior to a major incident which saw a car drive into a group of fans before Espanyol's La Liga clash against Barcelona.
A video posted to social media showed a white car hitting several supporters outside the RCDE Stadium shortly prior to kick-off, with ambulance and police immediately deployed to the scene.
The La Liga clash kicked off but was briefly halted on eight minutes to allow for referee Cesar Soto Grado holding brief discussions with in-stadium police.

The match would continue, though some Espanyol fans made their feelings clear by leaving their seats and exiting the stadium.
Speaking on ITV Sport, Guillem Balague reported that four people had been seriously injured and had been taken to hospital, along with a further nine injuries.
Balague added: "It is understood that a driver lost control of the vehicle. It was some sort of medical breakdown that had to do with the feeling that he had inside the car surrounded by people."
Marca also report that Spanish police are working on the hypothesis that the driver of the car 'lost control and it was an accident'.

Now, an eyewitness (via Relevo) has revealed what they 'saw' prior to the incident taking place - though with a different belief as to the gender of the driver.
They claim that a lady appeared to go in the wrong direction and bypassed security, before she 'got nervous and sped up' after 'seeing all the commotion and the police presence'.
The eyewitness added: "I saw the second acceleration. She was coming from the right.

"She got to the containers and people went for her because she already taken people, and then she accelerated a second time and took people. You just have to see the state of her car, she took people."
The same outlet reports that, out of the injured spectators, two had to be escorted from the scene on stretchers.

Subsequent footage on social media showed the white car involved in the incident, which appears to be a Peugeot, being towed away from outside the stadium.
