The English club that has had the most fans arrested or given banning orders for the past two seasons has been named.

It's well known that football fans can be a very passionate group, with some unfortunately taking things too far, leading to them being banned by either their club or the police.

At the end of every season, a government report is published breaking down the statistics relating to arrests, banning orders and other reported incidents relating to football.

Within this report, it is revealed which club's fans were the worst offenders, stating exactly how many were dealt with by police during the season.

In the report published on the official government website, it was revealed that as of 1 June this year, there were a total of 2,439 football banning orders issued in England and Wales that were in force by the end of the 2024/2025 season.

Not only was this a 12% increase from the season before, but it was also the highest number of banning order in force since the end of the 2012/2013 season.

By the end of 2024/25, it was West Ham United fans that held the highest number of football banning orders issued in England and Wales that were in force across all football clubs, with a total of 112.

This total means that ranking top of the list for banning orders for the second consecutive year.

During the season, the Hammers were also issued the highest number of new football banning orders, 39, taking their total up from the 93 in force at the end of 2023/24.

However, it is worth nothing that, as banning orders typically between 3 and 10 years, changes in these ranking tend to be slow.

Manchester United top the list for highest number of arrests

Although they were top of the list for banning orders, West Ham were actually only third on the list for arrests last season, with 77.

Instead, Manchester United topped the list last season, with 121 arrests taking place across 2024/25.

The most common offence type leading to these arrests was violent disorder and public disorder, which led to 34 arrests, with 49% of the total number taking place during home games.
