Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been told to leave his current club as part of a brutal clearout.

Last summer, Oxlade-Chamberlain moved to Turkish giants Besiktas on a three-year deal after his contract at Liverpool expired and was not renewed at the end of the season.

He made 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring four times and helping the team win the Turkish Cup in his first season.

But Besiktas, who appointed Giovanni van Bronckhorst as their new manager in June, are planning a mass squad overhaul.

And according to The Sun, Oxlade-Chamberlain is one of the players seen as dispensable after just one season in Istanbul.

It's claimed that the midfielder has been offered to British clubs, with many monitoring his situation.

A loan move would be most likely for the 30-year-old should potential suitors be able to cover the majority of his wages.

Brentford were interested last summer prior to his Besiktas switch, as were Sheffield United.

Oxlade-Chamberlain isn't the only player to be placed on the transfer list at Besiktas.

Arthur Masuaku and Daniel Amartey, formerly of West Ham and Leicester, are also up for grabs - as are Ante Rebic and Vincent Aboubakar.

Jean Onana, Valentin Rosier, Omar Colley, Javi Montero and Ersin Destanoglu are also available as Besiktas look to trim down their squad.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is believed to be earning around £70,000-a-week at Besiktas, where he is still contracted until 2026.

Oxlade-Chamberlain came through the ranks at Southampton and made his first-team debut as a 16-year-old.

He went on to sign for Arsenal in a £15 million deal, going on to play 198 times across six seasons before signing for Liverpool for a fee of £35 million.

Although he struggled with injuries, Oxlade-Chamberlain did win the Premier League, Champions League, Carabao Cup and Club World Cup in his spell at Anfield.
