Alexander Isak has asked Newcastle to explore a potential transfer exit but actually finding a new club may not be as easy as he thinks.
Isak is one of the Premier League's hottest properties and had been linked with Liverpool for much of the summer as Newcastle battled to keep hold of their star asset.
It seemed like Liverpool would make a move for the striker, only for Newcastle to reportedly knock back their interest, prompting the Premier League champions to go and sign Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike, who had previously been linked with the Magpies, for an initial £69 million, rising to a potential £79 million.
Ekitike was viewed as an Isak alternative, however Isak has now asked Newcastle if he can look into the possibility of leaving the club and has been left out of their pre-season tour squad of Singapore and South Korea as a result.

Liverpool have already spent more than £250 million this summer on Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong to strengthen Arne Slot's title defence. And if they were to revive their interest in Isak, that could take their spending past a huge £400 million if a report in the Athletic is to be believed.
That claims that Newcastle will only entertain talks for their 25-year-old striker if they began at a £150 million price tag, which would instantly make him the third most expensive footballer of all time after Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
It is then claimed that agent fees could add over £20m to a buying club's outlay, plus wages that could reach £300,000-per-week.

Players like Marcus Rashford earn a similar amount at Manchester United, now covered by Barcelona, while Kevin De Bruyne was reportedly earning over £300,000 each week before leaving Manchester City, so Isak could use a potential mammoth transfer fee to demand similar. Such a figure could cost a buying club over £15 million per year.
United have reportedly ruled themselves out of signing Isak, while City have Erling Haaland as their number nine and signed Omar Marmoush in January. Arsenal are closing in on Victor Gyokeres having spent over £100 million already this summer and Chelsea have added both Liam Delap and Joao Pedro in attack this summer as well as looking to offload a number of forwards.
Liverpool feel like Isak's likely Premier League option if they can find room for him alongside Ekitike and Mo Salah in their attack, with Bayern Munich's interest in Luis Diaz potentially an avenue to free up wages and a spot in the front line at Anfield.
