The transfer saga involving Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has taken a fresh twist after a huge update was dropped.
After scoring 27 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions for Newcastle during the 24/25 season, Isak has become one of the most wanted forwards in the game.
So far this summer, the Swedish international striker has been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Al Hilal.
However, it has been well documented that Newcastle do not want to sell their most prized possession, and it will take a mammoth opening bid for them to start discussions over any deal.

Premier League champions Liverpool are still said to be interested in signing the 25-year-old despite sealing a deal to buy Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Amid the noise surrounding his future, it was revealed on Thursday morning that Isak had not travelled with the Newcastle squad for their pre-season tour in Asia.
Taking to social media, Newcastle wrote: "Eddie Howe has an almost fully-fit squad to choose from, however Alexander Isak misses out with a minor thigh injury.

"Lewis Hall is available following an injury lay-off and could feature in South Korea."
Although the club confirmed that Isak missed out due to injury, this will do very little to ease Newcastle fans' fears that their striker could leave the club before the end of the summer transfer window.
The timing of this injury will add further fuel to the already burning fire surrounding Isak's future.
Isak was omitted from the Magpies squad last week when they fell to a 4-0 defeat against Scottish champions Celtic.

What has Eddie Howe said about Alexander Isak's future?
Speaking about Isak last week, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said: "Both (Joelinton and Isak) are fit but not ready to play. Alex has trained and is fine, but we didn’t want to take the risk with him.
"It's difficult for me to give 100% clarity on any player. It is football and you never know what can happen. Alex is happy at Newcastle, he loves the players, the staff, and the team. I'm confident he'll be here at the start of the season."
