Newcastle United have been dealt a major blow in the transfer window amid intense speculation linking Alexander Isak with a stunning move away from the club.
Isak's name continues to dominate the summer transfer window as a blockbuster switch to Liverpool has been mooted.
The star forward has informed Newcastle that he wants to explore his options, with the Reds keen on signing him despite splashing out an initial £69 million to sign Hugo Ekitike.
Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes has spoken out on the Isak rumours after arriving in Singapore for their pre-season tour.
With noise around the Swede's Newcastle future intensifying, the club are looking to do their own business ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, which includes Champions League football.
The Magpies recruited Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest and remain in the market for new talent.

Newcastle had also been interested in signing Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha before the attacking pair opted to sign for Manchester United.
They missed out on Dean Huijsen and Ekitike, too.
And Newcastle have been beaten to yet another transfer target after James Trafford has chosen to move to Manchester City.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Man City have agreed a deal with Burnley after activating their buy-back clause following his sale in the summer of 2023.

Deal in place with Burnley under value of £40m buy back clause. Trafford said yes to Man City as Pep Guardiola wanted him. Newcastle are also informed about Trafford’s decision."
Per David Ornstein, Newcastle held a long-term interest in Trafford and had an opportunity to sign him in May before the Club World Cup when Man City weren't considering a transfer.
Man City's plans changed, with the Blues matching Newcastle's offer of £27 million.
Trafford, who has agreed a five-year deal plus the option of a further 12 months, is set to join Ederson and Stefan Ortega as goalkeepers at Man City.
So, Newcastle have now missed out on seven of their top transfer targets this summer and could still lose Isak.
