Newcastle United have reportedly identified the two Liverpool players that they would consider as part of a swap deal involving star player Alexander Isak.

With just nine matchdays left to be played in the Premier League season, news of deals being made ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window in June has started to emerge.

While many clubs are expected to be busy in the window, Liverpool will perhaps be the most active in the market as Arne Slot looks to bolster his side following a fantastic first season in charge.

Newcastle striker Isak is reportedly top of Slot's list, and it is has been reported that the Magpies have picked the two Liverpool players that they would want to be included in any deal for their forward.

With several of the biggest clubs in the world all believed to be considering making a move for Isak, Liverpool will likely have to pay a club record fee if they want to secure his signature this summer.

To help reduce the price tag, it has been reported that the Reds will consider including one or more players as part of a transfer deal, and Newcastle have named their two picks.

According to Give Me Sport, Liverpool could offer both Diogo Jota and Harvey Elliott as part of a deal to bring the Swedish star to Anfield ahead of next season.

Liverpool have reportedly consider offering several other players as part of a swap deal for Isak, but Jota and Elliott are the most likely players to move as part of a deal as Magpies manager Eddie Howe is said to greatly admire the two players.

Previously,Joe Gomez and fellow defender Jarell Quansah were believed to be the most likely candidates to be part of any swap deal between for Isak given Newcastle's previous interest in the defensive pair.

Out-of-form striker Darwin Nunez has also been touted as a potential option to join Newcastle, but the report claims that the Geordies are no longer willing to entertain the idea of bringing the Uruguayan to St James' Park.

And, while several swap deals will be considered this summer, it Newcastle remain hopeful that they will be able to keep the 25-year-old striker at the club for the foreseeable future.
