Micah Richards’ response is gold as PSG boss Luis Enrique makes bold admission to CBS panel

Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique admitted that Micah Richards was his favourite member of the CBS panel.

CBS’ Champions League coverage has become essential viewing for the dynamic between Presenter Kate Abdo and pundits Richards, Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher.

While Henry offers a unique insight into being one of history’s few truly elite footballers, Carragher is known for his pithy and coherent ability to analyse and speak about the game. Meanwhile, Richards is, well, pure vibes.

And in the wake of PSG’s 3-0 Champions League win over AC Milan, the Ligue 1 side’s manager, Enrique, “made” Richards’ evening, by announcing him as his favourite member of the CBS team.

Abdo said to the PSG boss: “We were talking in the commercial break before we came back, and you made Micah Richards’ night.

“You said that he is - I don’t want to take the words from you - but you said he is your favourite.”

With his trademark bellowing voice, a beaming Richards announced: “Luis, Luis, I love you.

Enrique then explained: “Yeah of course. To be honest I am a very big fan of Micah Richards and the way you prank with him. I’m laughing a lot.”

Richards responded: “Luis. I love you so much. Thank you so much. It’s an absolute pleasure.”

Enrique cheekily added, in reference to Richards’ Champions League-winning CBS colleagues Henry and Carragher: “Even if you’ve never won the Champions League, it doesn’t matter”.

The Spaniard was speaking after his side claimed a comfortable 3-0 win over AC Milan to go top of Group F, with goals coming courtesy of Kylian Mbappe, Randal Kolo Muani and Lee Kang-in.

Just as they were wrapping up their interview with Enrique, Richards said: “Luis, I just wanted to ask you, are you familiar with the show?”

Enrique replied: “I’ve seen you. I’ve followed you a lot. As I told you before, you are my favourite without any doubt. You smile every day. You are an example.”
