How much Man Utd will have to pay Ruben Amorim if they sack him after Europa League final

The staggering amount that Manchester United could be forced to pay has been revealed.

The shocking amount that Manchester United will have to pay if they sack Ruben Amorim after the Europa League final has been revealed.

Next week, United will line up at San Mames stadium in Bilbao for a must-win Europa League final clash with Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

For United manager Amorim and Spurs boss Ange Postecoglu, the stakes couldn't be higher, with both men facing the reality that they could lose their job should they fail to win the match.

But should United decide to part ways with Amorim after the final, they will have to pay the Portuguese manager a big fee.

Over the years, United have shown that they are not afraid to terminate a manager's contract early if they feel that they are performing up to the club's standards.

Last year, the club was forced to pay £14.5million to sack former manager Erik ten Hag, who agreed to a one year extension just three months earlier, as well as his backroom staff and sporting director Dan Ashworth.

And it is now believed that United would have to pay Amorim a similar amount if they decided to terminate his contract ahead of its expiration at the end of June 2027.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, the Portuguese manager agreed to a a two-and-a-half-year deal worth £6.5million-a-year when he replaced Ten Hag in November.

Therefore, that would mean that United would have to pay roughly £13.5m if they were to sack him after the Europa League final and pay him the remainder of his salary in full.

If this were to be the case, it would take United's total cost of sacking managers to a stunning £88.7m, including the reported £15m paid to former interim manager Ralf Rangnick after his consultancy role was cancelled.

United's most costly dismissal was their decision to sack Jose Mourinho in December 2018, claiming that there had been no progress with results or style despite the fact that he had spent nearly £400m on 11 players.

Mourinho was paid £19.6m in severance after leaving United, with the Portuguese reportedly earning around £80m from being sacked by various clubs throughout his career.
