Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has revealed that he could be sacked just weeks after arriving at Old Trafford.

Amorim was appointed as the new United boss at the start of November, replacing former manager Erik ten Hag who held the position for over two years.

However, the Portuguese manager has struggled in his first two months in charge, losing five of his first 10 matches as United manager.

And now, Amorim has admitted that his job could already be under threat and that he is feeling the pressure over his future at United.

Speaking after United's latest loss against Wolves on Boxing Day, Amorim said that his job is certainly not safe, but he will embrace the pressure.

"I know the business that I'm in," admitted Amorim.

"The manager of Manchester United can never, no matter what, be comfortable.

"I know that if we don't win, regardless, if they pay the buyout or not, I know that every manager is in danger. I like that because that is the job, so I understand the question.

"You can argue that I have been here one month and I’ve had four training (sessions), but we are not winning. That is the reality and I'm quite comfortable with that."

The 39-year-old has repeatedly asked fans for patience and reiterated that it will take some time for United players to adjust to his style of play, but confessed that he did not expect to lost so many games early in his United career.

"There’s no point talking about that or thinking about that. I’m here and have to focus on the job," added Amorim.

"It’s part of football to have these difficult moments. I already knew that was going to be tough.

"You expect to win more games, to have players with more confidence to sell the idea and to work and improve things. At this moment it's really hard.

"We have to survive to have time and then to improve the team."

As it stands, United are 14th in the Premier League table, 11 points away from the top four and just eight points from the relegation zone.

In their next League match, United will welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford on New Year's Eve.
