AC Milan head coach Ruben Amorim is planning to make his first signing from Manchester United since being sacked by the club, it has been reported.
Amorim took charge of Milan at the beginning of the summer after taking a break from football following his United departure. Milan are unbeaten from five Serie A games, winning three and drawing two of their matches to sit in fifth place during the international break.
Milan have spent big so far under Amorim; winger Diego Moreira arrived from Strasbourg for €50million, while the club splashed out a club-record fee of €74million to sign striker Goncalo Ramos to sign Diego Moreira and a club-record €74million move for Goncalo Ramos. And Amorim is now turning his attention back to Old Trafford.

AC Milan keen on unwanted Man Utd forward Joshua Zirkee
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Milan are 'ready' to make a move to sign forward Joshua Zirkzee during the January transfer window.

The Italian giants failed in their attempts to sign the Netherlands international before he joined United in 2024, but may have a better chance this time around.
Zirkzee has played just 70 minutes in all competitions for United this season, with all of his four appearances coming from the bench. It has been claimed that United are ready to allow him to leave in January.

Zirkzee formerly played in Serie A for Cagliari prior to moving to Old Trafford, and he was linked with moves to Juventus and Roma in the summer.
But it is reported that Milan are considering whether to 'make another attempt' to sign the 25-year-old during the upcoming window.
It is noted that Amorim currently only has Goncalo Ramos and Francesco Camarda available as striking options, with Milan having allowed Lorenzo Colombo and Rafael Leao to leave on permanent deals in the summer. The club also chose not to extend Niclas Fullkrug's loan from West Ham.

'They talk a lot...' - Ruben Amorim's thinly-veiled dig at former Man Utd players
Amorim notably remained completely silent publicly about his time at United in the months following his exit, with reports claiming that he did not want to provide any distractions as Michael Carrick's side looked to secure Champions League football.
That has changed since his arrival at the San Siro, with Amorim making numerous references to his former club - and some of his more vocal critics.
Last month, he was asked during a press conference about how a number of AC Milan legends have commented on his time in charge so far, and referenced how he encountered the same situation while at United.
"I was in a club [United] in the past with a lot of legends," he said. "And they have big opinions, and they talk a lot about things. They lived in a time that was completely different."
