The specific reason behind why Ruben Amorim has so far chosen not to address his Manchester United sacking has emerged.
Amorim was sacked by United on January 5, a day after their 1-1 draw at Leeds United.
During his post-match press conference, Amorim appeared to indirectly criticise members of the club's hierarchy, including director of football Jason Wilcox, and stated that he had joined United to be 'a manager, not a coach'.
Darren Fletcher initially took over on a temporary basis, before his fellow former United midfielder Michael Carrick was appointed as interim manager until the end of the season.

Almost a month on from his departure, Amorim has still not spoken out about his United departure or publicly addressed the club's supporters.
Louis van Gaal released a statement upon United's decision to sack him in 2016, while club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was interviewed by United's media team after he was sacked in 2021.
But Jose Mourinho waited a month before commenting on his exit, during a segment as a pundit on beIN Sports.
Amorim's lack of comment thus far, therefore, isn't exactly a major surprise, with the Daily Mail now reporting what specifically is the reason behind the Portuguese's decision.

According to 'well-placed sources in Portugal', they claim, Amorim has chosen to wait until the end of the season before addressing his United exit.
It is added that the 40-year-old has chosen to do so in order to not cause a distraction away from United's pursuit of Champions League qualification under new interim manager Carrick.
Carrick has guided the club to three consecutive wins under his management thus far, including a convincing 2-0 victory over Manchester City at Old Trafford and a 3-2 win away at Arsenal.
United also defeated Fulham 3-2 at home on Sunday, having led 2-0 before the Cottagers struck twice late in the second half.
Benjamin Sesko's 98th-minute winner went on to secure victory.

While Amorim has kept his silence publicly, his United assistant Carlos Fernandes did post a farewell message on Instagram last month.
He wrote: "Thank you, Manchester United.
"Thank you to the world-class players I had the privilege to coach and to learn from. Thank you to the staff members who showed true support. Thank you to the fans who stood by us.
"In the end, working at a football club of this dimension doesn't just test your knowledge - it reveals character.
"A special chapter in my life. Proud to have served as Assistant Manager of Manchester United."
