Ruben Amorim is set to make a rare gesture if Manchester United decide to part ways with the Portuguese.
On Wednesday night, United endured a disastrous end to their already dismal season after they were beaten by fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.
Under the lights inside the San Mames in Bilbao, Welshman Brennan Johnson netted the winner in the 42nd minute as Spurs came away with a historic 1-0 victory.

As a result, Spurs will play in the Champions League next season.
Meanwhile, United have been left with nothing as they are set for one of the worst seasons in the club's rich history.
After the final whistle, the attention immediately turned to Amorim's future and whether he could be under pressure.

Usually, when a manager is sacked, they often receive a financial package as compensation.
For example, United reportedly paid £14.5 million to Erik ten Hag and his coaching team after his dismissal in October 2024.
However, speaking after the match, Amorim said that he will not ask for compensation if the Red Devils decide to part ways.
He said: "I have nothing to show to the fans, so in this moment it is a little bit of faith (that is required). Let's see (on the future). Like I said before, I am always open.

"If the board and fans feel that I am not the right guy, I will go in the next day without any conversation about compensation, but I will not quit."
Amorim added: "I am really confident on my job and as you see I will not change nothing in the way I do things."
United defender Luke Shaw issued a public backing when asked whether Amorim remains the right man to lead the club forward.

The Englishman said: "I can say 100 per cent right now he’s the right man. Results have not been good at all. I’ve been here for a long time now and been through different managers.
"Ruben, for me, I talk on my behalf and I can talk on behalf of all the players, he is 100 per cent the right manager to take us back to where this club should be."
United are back in action this weekend when they take on Champions League chasing Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
