Real Madrid make final decision on Endrick loan move amid Man Utd and Aston Villa interest

Real Madrid have now said whether they will sanction Endrick's loan exit after Man United missed out on signing his teammate, Aurelien Tchouameni.

Michael Carrick had been targeting the France midfielder throughout this summer and had received positive implications in July that a move would be possible if Real Madrid completed the signing of Manchester City superstar Rodri.

Unfortunately for the Red Devils, Barcelona entered the race to sign the World Cup winner at the end of July and are now in pole position to seal the transfer.

At the same time, Tchouameni has agreed a five-year contract at Real and is set to play an important role under Jose Mourinho this season.

Tchouameni was seen as a dream midfield signing for Man United after landing Premier League duo Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos from Aston Villa and Chelsea, respectively, earlier this summer.

But as their hunt for a third midfield capture continues, Carrick is also looking to address other areas of his squad, notably a left-back to challenge Luke Shaw and a centre-forward to rival the likes of Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo.

Newcastle United's Lewis Hall is their top target on the left side of defence, although the Toon look unlikely to sanction his exit, while several forwards have emerged on their radar.

One of those is Real Madrid starlet Endrick, who is being chased by the 13-time Premier League champions and Aston Villa.

The Brazil forward moved to the Bernabeu in July 2024 and has since made 40 appearances for the first team in all competitions.

Endrick was loaned to Lyon last term, where he scored a hat-trick on his debut against Metz before eight goals in 21 appearances earned him a place in Carlo Ancelotti's Brazil squad.

Now, the 20-year-old looked set to be a third-choice striker under Mourinho behind Kylian Mbappe and Carlos Ancelotti, resulting in the possibility of him leaving on loan.

Real Madrid now want to keep Endrick

Although Real want to keep Endrick long-term, talk of a loan to the Premier League seemed to appeal to both parties.

The Brazilian would have been offered regular Champions League football at either Man United or Aston Villa, too, but Los Blancos have since changed their mind on letting him leave.

"Real Madrid inform Endrick and his agents about decision to keep the player at the club," Fabrizio Romano wrote on X.

"Real management told Roc Nation about the decision to keep Endrick and continue with him in the squad.

"Jose Mourinho also approved the plan."

Endrick will now fight for his place at the Bernabeu next season, and depending on how much game time he gets, his development could be hampered.

But it appears Mourinho has enough faith in his blistering talent to give him a regular role in his plans next term, with United and Villa both needing to explore other options instead.

According to reports, Inter Milan striker Pio Esposito has emerged as a potential target for United, who also have title-winning Arsenal to contend with in the race for his signature.
