Ruben Amorim has provided an -- update on the future of Alejandro Garnacho amid rumours that the winger could leave Manchester United this month.

Ever since Garnacho was dropped alongside teammate Marcus Rashford for the Manchester derby last month, rumours have began circulating that he could be up for sale in the January transfer window.

Although the 20-year-old has found his way back into the starting lineup, including during the 2-1 win over Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday night.

And now, United manager Amorim has spoken out to provide an update on Garnacho's future at United, amid reports that Chelsea are preparing to submit their first bid for the winger.

Since missing out on the crucial match against local rivals Manchester City, Garnacho has featured in all of United's matches either as a starter or as a substitute player.

But Amorim was still unable to rule out that United could let the Argentine leave in the final weeks of the January transfer window.

"I don’t know what will happen. Let’s focus on the games, we have these players. Let’s improve the team. Think about the players that are here. We don’t know until the window is closed," Amorim admitted after the win over Rangers.

If Garnacho is to leave either in January or later in the summer, then it would appear that United's Premier League rivals Chelsea are the most likely destination, with several outlets reporting that the London club are preparing their first offer.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea have been monitoring Garnacho's situation closely as they look to replace winger Mykhailo Mudryk who was provisionally suspended by the FA last month after failing a drugs test.

Serie A club Napoli were also heavily linked with Garnacho, as they hope to fill the gap left by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's transfer to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.

However, negotiations between the two clubs have stalled after United made it clear that they would accept no less than £55million, with Napoli refusing to spend more than £46.5m

Therefore, new reports have claimed that the Italian side may now turn their attention elsewhere, as they hope to secure the signature of Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi.

This leaves the door wide open for Chelsea who, if they are prepared to meet United's demands, can wrap up a deal for Garnacho ahead of the window closing on February 3.
