Chelsea are reportedly considering selling Alejandro Garnacho this summer after the Argentine’s latest lacklustre showing against his former club, Manchester United.
Despite not making Liam Rosenior’s starting XI for the Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge on Saturday (April 18), Garnacho played the majority of the match after replacing Estevão, who went off injured after 17 minutes.
The 21-year-old was greeted with a chorus of boos from the away section, with Garnacho having left United under a cloud last summer.
The Chelsea star failed to make a positive impact on proceedings and struggled to threaten Senne Lammens, while also failing to cause United full-back Luke Shaw any major issues.

According to Statman Dave, Garnacho lost possession 15 times in just 74 minutes, while failing to register a single shot on target, assist, goal or accurate cross as Chelsea lost 1–0, courtesy of Matheus Cunha’s strike on the stroke of half-time.
Chelsea set Garnacho transfer fee
It has since been reported by talkSPORT that the Stamford Bridge club are willing to part ways with Garnacho for a fee of around £40 million this summer – the same fee they signed him for from United.
Several of his former team-mates appeared to take aim at him following the match, with Shaw posting a photograph to Instagram showing him pushing Garnacho to the floor, which prompted Bruno Fernandes to comment: “That’s a violation.”
Ayden Heaven posted a ‘shots fired’ GIF, before Joshua Zirkzee commented: “Nice one, mate.”
The winger’s own social media activity has come under fire of late, with the player deleting all Chelsea-related content from his TikTok account before sharing two posts from his days at United, which provoked an angry response from some Blues supporters.
Last week, Garnacho was linked with a move to Argentine giants Boca Juniors, despite having six years remaining on his deal with Chelsea – although it remains unclear whether he’d be willing to make the switch at this stage of his career.
Garnacho has recorded eight goals and four assists in 39 appearances for Chelsea, although several of his strikes have come against lower-league opposition such as Wrexham and Cardiff in cup competitions.
Chelsea return to action away at Brighton tomorrow (April 21), with their chances of qualifying for the Champions League appearing bleak, as the side are currently seven points behind fifth-placed Liverpool.
