Former Leeds United boss calls Roy Keane an 'a**hole' in unprovoked attack, he doesn't hold back

Former Leeds United boss calls Roy Keane an 'a**hole' in unprovoked attack, he doesn't hold back

Roy Keane slammed by a former Premier League manager.

Roy Keane has been branded an 'a**hole' by former Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch in a shock rant.

Marsch took charge of Leeds from February 2022 for 12 months before being relieved of his duties at Elland Road.

The American had the unenviable task of replacing Marcelo Bielsa, who won the hearts of many Leeds fans for his style of play and for earning promotion back to the Premier League.

Marsch failed to get the best out of the Leeds team as he won just 11 of his 37 games as manager.

The 50-year-old is still out of work following his sacking, having been linked with the likes of Southampton and Leicester City before they opted for other managers.

He has since made an appearance on Simon Jordan's Up Front podcast, where he recalled the ruthless 'culture' in England.

In doing so, he referenced Manchester United legend Keane, calling him an 'a**hole' in a stinging attack.

"It’s always interested me that people love Roy Keane so much, and his commentary," he said via The Sun.

"I think Roy can be kind of an a**hole."

Marsch added: "There’s something about English culture - that kind of negative, edgy, cutting... that’s the truth. He says it like it is.

"I will tell you - our (American) truth is we believe we can achieve great things.

"We believe in ourselves. If people want to knock us down, that almost drives us more.

"When I have positive takes on certain things, that’s not me trying to be something different of trying to be American. This is how I feel."

Keane, who provides punditry for Sky Sports and ITV, doesn't mince his words and says it how it is when assessing teams, players and managers.

His words have clearly had an impact as Marsch isn't a fan of the ex-Premier League star's approach.
