Richard Keys has mocked Erik ten Hag in the wake of Manchester United's crushing 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.

United's season hit a new low on Monday night as they were thrashed at Selhurst Park.

Two goals from reported United transfer target Michael Olise inspired Palace to victory, while Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell also got in the scoresheet for the home team.

Ten Hag's side have now suffered 13 defeats in the Premier League this season, their most in a league campaign since 1989/90.

United find themselves eighth in the table and are at real risk of failing to qualify for Europe entirely.

They are also on track for their lowest finish in the Premier League era, with their previous worst ever finish 7th in the 2013/14 season.

Speaking after the defeat, Ten Hag said his players "deserved" the humiliating result.

"It's a deserved defeat. The performance wasn't what we expected," he said.

"We can't focus on just one player [Casemiro]. We have to focus on the team performance. This was not right.

"We have to put it right on Sunday. We have to learn from this game and improve.

"I was really grateful [to the fans]. They back us. They see also we have our problems. You have to stick together. You have to take responsibility. The fans gave us such huge and tremendous support."

beIN SPORTS presenter Richard Keys, a consistent critic of Ten Hag this season, was quick to twist the knife after the match.

He took to X to post: "'We are one of the most dynamic and entertaining teams in this league'"

Keys was referencing a quote from Ten Hag which he made following United's recent 1-1 draw with Burnley.

"We are one of the most dynamic and entertaining teams in the league at this moment," Ten Hag told the BBC.

"We are creating loads of chances by playing good football. Every team gives up opportunities. But when it is up to us, it is weird."

Ten Hag clashed with a Dutch journalist last week after he questioned just how entertaining United have been this season.

When asked to clarify exactly what he meant by his previous comment in an interview with Viaplay's Koen Weijland, Ten Hag snapped back: "If you would do your research, you would see in our data that we are very dynamic in terms of attacking play."

When Weijland then asked what he meant by "dynamic", Ten Hag replied: "I'm just trying to explain that to you.

"If you did your job, you would see that we are the team that is currently the most attractive and vertical team in the entire Premier League in terms of speed and movement."

United return to action on Sunday with a hugely difficult match against Premier League leaders Arsenal at Old Trafford.

They then face Newcastle and Brighton in their remaining league fixtures before taking on rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final on May 25.
