Paul Scholes has named the player who he thinks was Manchester United’s worst-ever signing.

Englishman Scholes will go down in history as one of the finest midfielders to ever play the sport.

The Salford-born star spent his entire career at United having worked himself through the ranks to make his senior debut in 1993.

During his time as a Red Devil, Scholes lifted multiple trophies including 11 Premier League titles, two Champions Leagues, three FA Cups, two League Cups and five FA Community Shields.

In total, Scholes made 718 appearances for United, scoring 155 goals across all competitions.

He also shared a pitch with some of the club’s best players, including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Roy Keane and Eric Cantona.

However, in a recent episode of The Overlap, Scholes named Mark Bosnich as the club’s worst signing.

He explained: “I thought he was a good keeper at Villa, but he came to us, he was so unprofessional. Honestly, it was ridiculous. In shooting practice, you normally have like 15/20 shots, after three shots he's knackered and I never realised, he couldn't kick a football. Honestly, I'd never seen anything like it.

“We played Everton in the first game of the season and none of us picked up on it, but he couldn't even reach the halfway line. There was no wind. It was a perfect day.”

Apart from United, Bosnich also played for the likes of Sydney United, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Central Coast Mariners and Sydney Olympic.

The Australian established himself as a solid Premier League goalkeeper having played over 200 matches for Villa between 1992 and 1999.

Bosnich then joined United in 1999 before leaving for Chelsea in 2001.

In total, the goalkeeper made 35 appearances for the Red Devils and got his hands on the Premier League and the Intercontinental Cup.
