Matheus Cunha Could Be 'Set for Ban' After Incident During Arsenal vs Man Utd

Manchester United recorded a vital victory against Arsenal on Sunday evening.

Matheus Cunha could reportedly be at risk of a ban for what he said after scoring against Arsenal.

On Sunday afternoon, Manchester United travelled to the Emirates Stadium looking to back up their win over Manchester City by beating Arsenal.

Thanks to goals from Bryan Mbeumo, Patrick Dorgu and Cunha, United sealed a dramatic 3-2 victory.

Lisandro Martinez scored an own goal before Mikel Merino netted the Gunners' second.

After scoring a stunning goal to make it 3-2, Cunha was heard shouting something as the camera got close to the Brazilian.

As per Manchester Evening News, it was unclear what Cunha said but it appeared to include an explicit.

Sky Sports' commentator Peter Drury was forced to apologise immediately.

He said: "If you heard some bad language in among the celebrations, for that we apologise."

Meanwhile, the Manchester Evening News' report stated that Cunha could be at risk of a ban.

As per rules set out by the Football Association, 'offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures' could be one of the reasons that players get sent off.

The rule stated: "While a referee might not always hear a player swear in the heat of the moment, the FA has the power to take retroactive disciplinary action if the incident is caught on camera and broadcast to a wide audience.

"The FA views swearing directly into a lens as a "clear and deliberate" act of misconduct that brings the game into disrepute."

Back in 2011, ex-United star Wayne Rooney was slapped with a two-match suspension after he was caught swearing down the camera at Upton Park against West Ham United.

The then-United player was charged with the 'use of offensive, insulting and/or abusive language'.

United are back in action next weekend when they take on Fulham at Old Trafford.
