Mason Greenwood's view of his Getafe team-mates revealed as 'important teams' make contact over Man Utd deal

Mason Greenwood's view of his Getafe team-mates revealed as 'important teams' make contact over Man Utd deal

Greenwood is on loan at the Spanish club.

Mason Greenwood's view on his Getafe team-mates has been revealed, according to a new report.

Greenwood is currently on loan at the Spanish side from Manchester United until the end of the season.

He has scored six goals and provided four assists in 20 games in all competitions for Jose Bordalas' side.

According to AS, the forward is said to have been 'surprised' with the quality of the squad at Getafe, although the side was competing in the latter stages of the Europa League three years ago.

He is also said to be 'fascinated' with the atmosphere in the locker room, and 'very pleased' with treatment has received from team-mates, coaches and the club president.

The squad is packed with top talent from Spain and abroad, with former Barcelona starlet Carles Alena, ex-Bournemouth left-back Diego Rico and long-serving centre-back Dakonam Djene all in the squad.

Spain international forward Borja Mayoral, who was linked with Arsenal earlier in the transfer window, leads the line, while goalkeeper David Soria is one of the best shot-stoppers in La Liga.

Greenwood, meanwhile, has been linked with moves to Barcelona and Real Madrid this summer, as well as potentially joining a club in Italy or France.

The 22-year-old will take on Real when Getafe take on Carlo Ancelotti's side at home on Thursday evening.

His future will no longer be at United, with the club confirming in August that he would leave the club by mutual consent.

Greenwood was charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in October 2022.

The charges were discontinued in February 2023. In a statement, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said that 'a combination of the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light meant there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction'.

United then conducted their own internal investigation into the forward's behaviour, determining by mutual consent that Greenwood would leave Old Trafford.

According to GiveMeSport, United could end up doing a deal with Getafe to bring a different player to Old Trafford next summer.

It is reported that the club are keen on signing 26-year-old Mayoral, who previously played for Real Madrid and Roma and has scored 14 goals in 21 league games this term.
