A body language expert has exposed how Marcus Rashford was truly feeling when faced with questions about Manchester United during his presentation at Barcelona.
Rashford was confirmed as a Barcelona player on Wednesday evening, with the United man joining on loan for the rest of the 2025/26 campaign.
The Catalan club will cover the England international's £325,000-a-week wage during his time in Spain and have a £26 million buy option included in the deal.
During the forward's presentation at the Camp Nou, he was quizzed on quotes from Gary Lineker who claimed the issues at United were not Rashford's responsibility.

He responded: "The situation with Manchester United is that the club is going through a period of change, and this has been ongoing for some time. I don’t have anything negative to say about Manchester United."
Rashford added: I think it has been an important part not only of my career but of my life as well, so I am grateful for the opportunity to play for them. But football is the same as life, not everything goes as simple as you may have thought. This is my next step, my next chapter."
Body Language expert reveals Marcus Rashford was 'torn'
The 27-year-old's answers caught the attention of fans online, and leading body language expert, Darren Stanton, has revealed his true feelings speaking to OLBG.

“What I look for is changes in baseline behaviour,” Stanton said.
“When we get stressed or we're in a situation where we feel we're being challenged that affects something called our autonomic nervous system which is breathing, blink rate, blood flow so some people go pale, some people blush. It has a dramatic effect on his physiology.

“People predominantly process information visually, auditorily and kinesthetically, and that leaks out in language," he added.

Based on the footage, Stanton is of the opinion that the United loanee wasn't speaking his true mind and appeared stressed.
“The key takeaways from looking at Rashford here. He changed his eye position and started looking down and to the right. That shows he’s accessing internal feelings," he explained.
“First thing that I saw is his blink rate doubled, which means he's having a bit of a stressful moment.
“Then he kept doing what we call bilateral shoulder shrug. If you watch his right shoulder compared to his left, his body's betraying that his true feelings don’t match with what he’s actually saying.

“He knows there were issues at Manchester United but he doesn't want to throw anyone or the team under the bus. Rashford was showing loyalty and was being super diplomatic.
“So there’s the increased blink rate, the bilateral shoulder shrug, and we also see he starts to swallow more. That's again a tell-tale sign that his internal stress levels have gone up.
“The last thing was when he stuck his tongue out like a child does. He didn’t do it a lot but we saw it two or three times throughout the interview," he continued.

However, Stanton stressed that it wasn't an intentional deception from Rashford, and rather he was just uncomfortable speaking on the topic in question.
He added: “This is again a stress indicator because people lick their lips as they tend to go very dry when they're under stress.
“So that's four red flags. He’s not being deceptive but there are a number of things that he was a bit stressed about.”
