Manchester United fans have been asked to pick who they want to win the Premier League out of two of their biggest rivals – Manchester City and Arsenal.

With third-place Liverpool now five points behind Arsenal with only three games remaining, it appears to be a two-horse race for the title between the Gunners and defending champions City.

Pep Guardiola's side are currently one point behind Arsenal but have a game in hand and are now strong favourites to win an unprecedented fourth successive Premier League title.

City next face Wolves at the Etihad on Saturday, while Arsenal host Bournemouth earlier in the day.

It is a nightmare scenario for United supporters, who are guaranteed to see one of their biggest rivals win the league this season.

To make matters worse, it has been another disappointing campaign at Old Trafford, with Erik ten Hag's side currently sixth in the league – 26 points behind table-topping Arsenal.

SPORTbible ran a poll among United supporters to find out who they would prefer to win out of Arsenal and City.

And the results are certainly surprising.

After more than 63,000 responses, 61 per cent of United fans said they would prefer to see Arsenal win the league this season.

That means 39 per cent of supporters want to see City win the league for a fourth consecutive time – a feat not even Sir Alex Ferguson achieved during his time at Old Trafford.

One fan explained why he preferred City over Arsenal in the title race.

"If City win it, it's forgotten about the next day. If Arsenal win it, nobody will hear the end of it," he posted on Instagram.

Another supporter agreed, also backing City to win over Arsenal.

"Biggest rival throughout most of the early PL years. Plus a team that in theory we should be competing with now," they added.

"None of us want Liverpool to win for obvious reasons. City are just nailed on and boring, used to it now and we only competed with them for titles under Fergie for a couple of years.

"Arsenal/United have a deeper rivalry."

But another supporter disagreed, writing: "A sensible and real fan of Manchester United would want Arsenal to win it."

One thing is for certain; United fans will be hoping the roles are reversed next year and it is their club in the hunt for the title, rather than watching from the sidelines.
