Arsenal fans fume at Nottingham Forest star after crucial Man City win

Man City gained another crucial three points in their quest for the Premier League title.

Arsenal fans were left furious after one Nottingham Forest player after they lost 2-0 to Manchester City at the City Ground.

The Gunners beat Tottenham 3-2 in a dramatic north London derby earlier on Sunday, and were hoping for Forest to do them a favour in their battle for the Premier League title.

Mikel Arteta's side were four points clear of second-placed City before kick-off in Nottingham, but Pep Guardiola's side had two games in hand.

The game held added significance for Forest as well, as they sat just one point above 18th-placed Luton in their quest to avoid relegation.

But despite their best efforts, Nuno Espirito Santo's side fell to what could be described as a harsh defeat, with the battle now between themselves, Luton and Burnley to claim the coveted 17th position over the final three games of the season.

The main reason behind why Forest currently have their heads above water is Chris Wood, who has netted 12 goals in 27 games this season.

But the New Zealand international had an off-day at the City Ground, missing a couple of opportunities at goal and miscueing another from close range as he tried to get on the scoresheet once again.

Naturally, perhaps, Arsenal fans were not impressed that Wood didn't manage to score, especially as Erling Haaland made it 2-0 to City late in the second half.

One fan wrote: "Is Chris Wood OK??? He should've had a hat-trick."

Another said: "Chris Wood you are not the man."

A third agreed: "Chris Wood is getting on my nerves."

And a fourth summarised: "What a glaring miss by Chris Wood, he had to score!!! You can hear the frustration from north London."

The 2-0 win for City leaves them one point behind Arsenal in the race for the Premier League title but, crucially, they have a game in hand on their closest rivals.
