Manchester United fans are furious upon discovering how much of Jadon Sancho’s wages Borussia Dortmund would be paying to take the player on loan.

United and Dortmund are said to be in discussion over a loan move for Sancho in January, amid the winger’s exile at Old Trafford.

Sancho has been training away from United’s first team since early September after refusing to apologise to manager Erik ten Hag following a dispute around his inclusion in a 3-1 defeat at Arsenal.

The England international said he had been made a “scapegoat for a long time” in a social media post after Ten Hag had earlier claimed Sancho wasn’t selected in the matchday squad due to his performances in training.

Having since effectively been banished from first-team training and not been considered for selection, it appears he is set to join former club Dortmund, who he left for Old Trafford in a £73million transfer in July 2021.

On the matter, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano said: “Jadon Sancho, just waiting for the green light to travel to Borussia Dortmund training camp in Marbella. Manchester United and BVB are closing in on a loan deal this morning. Almost there.”

According to the Times, Dortmund have offered to pay around a third of Jadon Sancho's wages as part of their loan deal, an amount some United fans consider to be derisory.

One person said: “Taking the p***”, while another added: “That’s like 120K.”

A third person said: “And we're still paying them instalments, they can shove it somewhere.”

A fourth added: “Why would we even consider this? I’d rather sell him cheap than pay him to play elsewhere.”

Sancho enjoyed a breakout four-year spell at Dortmund between 2017 and 2021, winning the German Supercup and DFB-Pokal in that time.

He has since gone on to make 82 appearances for United, scoring on just 12 occasions in that time.
