A player's agent has responded to claims that Manchester United could risk violating FIFA rules with a summer transfer.
United are expected to be extremely active in the summer market after a dire campaign which will see them finish with their worst ever points tally and league finish in the Premier League.
A slew of targets have already been mentioned in the media, with the likes of Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap believed to priority players for the Red Devils.

However, United have also been linked with a move for a player who they only sold less than a year ago.
Alvaro Carreras, previously known as Fernandez, signed for United from Real Madrid in 2020 and won the club's Under 23 Player of the Year award in 2022.
However he failed to make a single first-team appearance for United, instead spending time on loan at Preston, Granada and Benfica.
His last loan move to the Portuguese giants became a permanent transfer after Benfica exercised their option to purchase him for €6 million following an impressive season.

The 22-year-old has continued to go from strength to strength and racked up 46 appearances in all competitions this season.
With his stock high, one report in Spain claimed that United and Real could be involved a bizarre deal that would effectively be illegal.
Agent of former Man United star speaks out on report
It was claimed Real were looking to avoid paying a high fee for their former youth player by allowing United to activate a buy-back clause of €18m before immediately selling him to Los Blancos for €12 million profit.

A Bola of Portugal, via Sport Witness, say that FIFA's rules would prohibit such a move as the player would have to remain at the new club for 16 weeks.

And in any case, Carreras had dismissed the speculation and stressed that the left-back will be staying at the Estadio da Luz.
“I don’t know where this news comes from, everything that is said in it is pure fantasy and, as such, it does not deserve any comment on my part," Gines Carvajal said.

"Carreras is doing very well in Benfica and will continue there."
Carreras has a contract with Benfica until 2029 and is hopeful of listing the Primeira Liga in his second season. Benfica and rivals Sporting are locked in a close title race where they are on the same points with just two matchdays remaining.
