A Manchester United star 'regrets' joining the club as a bombshell report reveals the team he wish he had signed for.

Man United have added Matheus Cunha to their squad ahead of the new season after triggering the £62.5 million release clause in his Wolves contract.

The Red Devils remain in the market for new talent, with Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo on Ruben Amorim's radar.

A big summer spending spree is expected as Amorim also hopes to recruit a new No.9, with Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres and Napoli's Victor Osimhen on their transfer wish-list.

Man United splashed the cash last summer, too, having recruited Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee.

Not to mention Leny Yoro, who joined the club from Lille in a deal worth up to £58.9 million.

Man United fended off competition from Real Madrid, securing the services of Yoro on a five-year contract.

It was viewed as a statement signing, given his talent and potential. He was also dubbed as the 'new Raphael Varane'.

But, according to Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Yoro regrets signing for Man United over Real.

The report has claimed that although Real 'wanted' to bring Yoro to the Bernabeu, 'the French centre-back ended up choosing the millions' from Man United.

It states that 'the worst thing for Yoro is the feeling of having made a serious mistake, adding that 'the defender feels regret for not having accepted the Madrid's club offer last summer'.

Considering his age, the 19-year-old could still end up at Real. He would be in his early 20s once his existing deal comes to an end.

Yoro made his competitive debut for Man United last December following his summer transfer after suffering an injury in pre-season.

He played 33 games across all competitions last season, including 21 appearances in his side's underwhelming Premier League campaign.
