Manchester United are making a shock move to sign a free agent after accepting defeat in the Viktor Gyokeres transfer saga.
Man United have recruited Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon this summer and remain in the market for new players ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Bryan Mbeumo is on Ruben Amorim's radar, with Man United yet to reach a deal with Brentford, who rejected an improved bid worth £62.5 million last month.
A new No.9 is also high on Amorim's transfer wish-list following the form of Rasmus Hojlund, who struggled in front of goal last season.

Hojlund, who cost £72 million from Atalanta in the summer of 2023, scored just four league goals as he had a difficult campaign.
Man United had looked at Gyokeres following his prolific form at Sporting CP, where he has bagged 97 goals in 102 matches since signing from Coventry City.

Gyokeres worked with Amorim, who was hoping to reunite with him at Old Trafford.
