Mark Goldbridge has discussed the unexpected phone call he received from Manchester United in one of his recent livestreams.
Goldbridge, real name Brent Di Cesare, is the main face of "The United Stand", a platform that has grown into United's biggest independent fan channel with more than 2.2 million subscribers on YouTube.
He provides daily updates on the biggest talking points, with one of this week's topics being the appointment of former England number two Steve Holland as part of Michael Carrick's staff for the upcoming campaign.
United have appointed Carrick as their caretaker head coach, and the midfielder will be assisted by Holland, Jonathan Woodgate, Jonny Evans and Travis Binnion.

Holland, who worked as Gareth Southgate's assistant between 2016 and 2024, was made an MBE in the New Year's Honours of 2022 for his role in England's delayed run to the Euro 2020 final.

His appointment has become a big discussion point, with Goldbridge suggesting Holland's arrival could point towards Southgate being handed the permanent job beyond Carrick's interim spell.

"It does seem mightily suspicious that you bring in Southgate's long-term right-hand man to work with Carrick and there is a manager's job in the summer," he said on The United Stand this week.
Moments after making the above statement, Goldbridge received a phone call from 'Manchester United'.
A short time later and the YouTube personality addressed the situation, explaining that it was the club's ticket office "asking me about tickets".
Speaking on his channel, he began: "Yes. So I was on the morning show and my phone rang, and it said Manchester United on it."

Goldbridge continued: "Somebody said I changed the name of somebody on my phone and then got them to ring him. Mate, I'm too bloody lazy for that. I don't even script my shows. I just go live, have a look at your comments and make a show out of it.
"It was Manchester United ringing me. Basically, it was Jason Wilcox saying... no, it wasn't. Last season, I went to watch the Brentford game with Seb (his son) and they've rang me about four times since then.
"I've never had Manchester United ring me from the ticket office. Four times this season they've rang me with offers for tickets. That says a lot."
He added: "They must be struggling to sell tickets, I presume."
Interesting detail spotted in Man Utd's Michael Carrick announcement
It was confirmed on Monday that former United midfielder Michael Carrick will take over until the end of the 2025-26 season following positive face-to-face talks with club executives.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was also in contention but Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada, who have led the process to appoint an interim, decided to appoint Carrick.
A statement from the club read: "Manchester United is delighted to announce the appointment of Michael Carrick as head coach of the men’s first team until the end of the 2025/26 season.
"Carrick played 464 games for the club, winning five Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two League Cups, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
"He joined the first-team coaching staff when he retired in 2018 and served under Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

"Following Solskjaer’s departure, Carrick led the club with distinction during his role as caretaker manager. The former England international was head coach at Middlesbrough for two-and-a-half years from October 2022."
It was pointed out on social media that United did not refer to Carrick as an interim manager, something they did when they announced Solskjaer's appointment back in 2018.
Sky Sports' Rob Harris wrote: "Michael Carrick probably counts as Man United’s seventh manager post Alex Ferguson as the club isn’t calling him interim."
