A Manchester United player who started their 1-1 Premier League draw against Wolves has reached an agreement to leave the club, it has been reported.

United took the lead in the first half against Wolves, with Joshua Zirkzee finding the net via a deflected effort on 36 minutes.

Ladislav Krejci equalised for Wolves on the cusp of half-time.

Despite having only picked up two points all season, Rob Edwards' side managed to hold on for a point, with United rarely able to offer significant attacking threat in the second half.

The match was the final game before the January transfer window opens on January 1.

United are not expected to conduct any significant incoming business, with manager Ruben Amorim indicating in his pre-match interview with Sky Sports that the club would wait until the summer to sign new players.

Instead, there is set to be more focus on moving players out of the club - with one key contributor from the Wolves clash potentially leaving.

According to Fabrizio Romano, forward Zirkzee has an agreement to leave the club and sign for Roma on loan until the end of the season.

Romano adds that, while United have officially received a loan proposal from Roma, the club have not yet given permission for Zirkzee to depart.

Zirkzee has not been a regular starter for United this season when fit and has been overtaken as first-choice striker by Benjamin Sesko.

"Man United, via intermediaries, have received an official bid for Joshua Zirkzee," Romano said. "It's a loan with a potential obligation to buy.

"Roma have an agreement with Zirkzee. Zirkzee is ready to go to Roma, and would be open to joining Roma [permanently].

🚨 BREAKING:

Man United have received, via intermediaries an official loan proposal with a potential obligation to buy for Joshua Zirkzee - but the club has not yet given its green light, it all depends on the management of the club & Ruben Amorim.

"But the deal depends on Man United, on the management, on Ruben Amorim. If they give the green light, this deal can be closed at any moment.

"Obviously, with United not getting [Antoine] Semenyo [who is close to joining Manchester City], the timing could be better."

He expanded further on his YouTube channel: "What I am told is that Manchester United will only approve a deal if they can get a replacement.

"Man United have started to explore the market again. They are back in the market for an attacking player."
