Manchester United have reached an agreement with Bruno Fernandes over a new deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Fernandes' new deal will be valid until June 2027, with the option of another season.

Romano claims the 29-year-old will be among the highest earners at the club.

He penned a new deal in April 2020 worth about £220,000-per-week that runs to 2026.

The terms of his new deal will take him into the top pay bracket with Marcus Rashford, Casemiro and Jadon Sancho.

Rashford is paid a basic salary of about £365,000-per-week, slightly more than Casemiro while Sancho earns about £300,000-per-week.

A new contract is set to be signed before the end of the summer transfer window.

Fernandes has been at Man United since January 2020 when he joined from Sporting CP for a reported fee of £67.6 million.

He has since made an impressive 234 appearances across all competitions for the club, becoming an integral part of the team.

Fernandes had been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, with reports claiming he was set to speak to Saudi Arabia officials over a switch to the Middle East.

A transfer to Bayern Munich and Inter Milan had also been mooted amid uncertainty over the star player's future.

But Romano's huge update confirms the Portuguese's commitment to Man United as he is set to play out the prime of his career in the Premier League.

Speaking a couple of months ago, Fernandes expressed his desire to stay at Man United as he demanded the club match his ambitions.

"I don’t want to leave. This has always been my ultimate dream. I just want my expectations to fit with the expectations of the club," he explained. "If you go talk to any fan, they will tell you the same thing. We want to compete for the league. We want to be playing Champions League football. We want to be in cup finals. That is the standard."
