Liverpool have reportedly rejected a bid for one of their players.

With the summer transfer window in full swing, it has been a quiet one so far for the Anfield club.

The likes of Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip and Adrian left Liverpool upon the expiration of their contracts and the Reds are yet to bring in any new players.

With the 24/25 season fast approaching, Liverpool will be in a race against time to give Arne Slot the best squad possible to challenge at the top of the Premier League.

On Monday afternoon, it was reported that Liverpool have rejected a bid from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven for defender Sepp van den Berg.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano wrote on social media: “Understand PSV Eindhoven have sent formal bid to Liverpool for Sepp van den Berg at the end of last week, worth around €10m.

“Liverpool have immediately rejected the proposal.”

It has been reported that Liverpool are holding out for a transfer fee of €20 million in order to part ways with the 22-year-old.

Back in June, Van den Berg accused the club of hindering his future.

He said: “I had a good conversation with the management. He said, he had received good reports. I understood that I wasn't going to play Van Dijk, Matip or Konate out [of the team]. But I thought I could be right behind it.

“When I didn't get a chance again, I said: 'Figure it out, I want to leave. You [Liverpool] didn't exude confidence in me all this time, but you do want to hinder my future’.”

Van den Berg added: “I want to keep playing every week and develop myself further. In Germany, I enjoy Dortmund away with 70,000 people, Bayern Munich away against Harry Kane. Stuttgart, Leipzig, Leverkusen - against clubs like that I am challenged every week.”

Van den Berg started at the heart of Slot’s defence as Liverpool beat Real Betis 1-0 last week.

Speaking after the match, he said: “I'm still a Liverpool player, I enjoy it here, really. It's a new era, under a new coach, I really like the style of play.

“For me, it's about gametime and I am getting it at the minute. For me, the most important thing is playing. If I can do it here, there is no better place, to be here is my dream.”
