Arne Slot has reportedly been denied his first Liverpool signing with his transfer target only wanting to sign for one club.
Dutchman Slot replaced Jurgen Klopp last month after impressing the Liverpool hierarchy with his work at both AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord.
The 45-year-old has huge boots to fill after Klopp brought all the major trophies back to Anfield during his tenure.

Ahead of the 24/25 season, it has been claimed that Slot’s transfer plans have been hit with a huge blow.
Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners is one of many players who has been linked with a move to Liverpool during the summer transfer window.
Slot managed Koopmeiners when the pair were at AZ Alkmaar back in 2020.
However, according to Tutto Juve, the Dutchman has indicated that he only wants to move to Juventus despite interest from Liverpool.
It has been claimed that Atalanta value Koopmeiners at around £50 million.
Speaking about his future back in March, Koopmeiners said: “I have indicated to Atalanta that I want to make a move. But there must be something very nice to exchange that for Atalanta. My girlfriend and I are having a great time in Italy, but I can put up with the rain for some clubs in England!
“I hope there will be great options that I can think about. And then I hope that Atalanta receives a nice amount for me because I had a wonderful time there.”
Recently, former Liverpool man Dirk Kuyt spoke about where the Reds need to strengthen, he told Ladbrokes 1-2-Free: “I think Liverpool could do with strengthening in defence, and in midfield. But a lot will depend on who will be leaving the club, because then you can see exactly what you need to bring in. That being said, if not many players leave this summer, I don't think Arne [Slot] will change too much.
“If he's going to buy, he'll know what this team needs, and I'm sure he'll only bring in something the team doesn't already have. But we have a pretty decent team, and I think Arne is very happy with the players who are already there, and I think he's trying everything to keep as many players in as possible.”
He continued: “The level from Holland to England is at least two steps higher, so it's not easy to make that move. So when you're talking about Feyenoord players joining Arne at Liverpool, I think Lutsharel Geertruida is the one, really, who would be able to make that move.”
