Mauricio Pochettino left speechless at Erik ten Hag question in Chelsea press conference

Mauricio Pochettino was asked about Erik ten Hag ahead of Manchester United vs. Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino was left speechless at an Erik ten Hag question during his press conference ahead of Manchester United vs. Chelsea.

Pochettino and Ten Hag put their managerial wits against each other on Wednesday as the Blues travel to Old Trafford for a crunch Premier League fixture.

Man United head into the clash having lost 1-0 to Newcastle United while Chelsea will look to make it back-to-back wins following their 3-2 victory over Brighton.

It's the first meeting between Pochettino and Ten Hag since Tottenham's dramatic win over Ajax in the Champions League back in 2019.

The Argentine coach will also face against the Red Devils after he was linked with the vacancy before the Dutchman's appointment.

Ahead of Man United vs. Chelsea, Pochettino was asked about Ten Hag and whether or not he was glad that he missed out on the Man United position.

But before he gave his assessment of his opposite number, the 51-year-old was left speechless when he was asked about Ten Hag.

Pochettino eventually gave his thoughts on the Man United gaffer, saying: "Fantastic coach.

"I remember when I was at Tottenham, we had semi-finals of the Champions League against Ajax. I think it is good to see him after four years because after the semi-final we have not had the pleasure again."

He was then asked about rumours linking him with the Man United job to which he replied: "I'm not going to talk about it.

"You laugh but I you try to make me talk too much, I don't want to make a mistake. I am not the person to talk what is going on at different clubs. I am happy here in this project. We are dealing with many situations we need to improve also.

"Maybe if someone sees the project from outside maybe they thing we need advice from the outside. We are building something here and 200 per cent focused on evolving and developing the project we want together. That is my focus to try and deliver the job."
