Manchester United have reportedly made a final decision on the future of Anthony Martial.

The Frenchman joined United as a teenager from Monaco nine years ago for an initial a £36 million that would rise to £58 million if certain add-ons were met.

Martial has scored 90 goals in 317 games for the club after an inconsistent spell made up of patches of form and underachievement.

This season the former Lyon man has scored just twice in all competitions and there were rumours that 28-year-old was about to bag himself another contract.

United have just confirmed extensions for the likes of Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Hannibal Mejbri.

However, talkSPORT are reporting that the Red Devils, now with Sir Jim Ratcliffe running football operations, will not look to offer Martial a fresh deal.

With his contract ending in the summer, he is most likely to leave on a free unless someone comes in for Martial in the January window.

Martial's last contract was a five-year deal in 2019 when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was at the helm.

He had six months remaining when he put pen to paper and the deal contained the option to trigger a one-year extension until 2025.

However despite recent comments from Erik ten Hag indicating that conversations with Martial's representatives were still ongoing, United do not plan to do so and history will not be repeating itself this time around.

Similarly Raphael Varane's one-year extension option is not being triggered, though the club are hoping to negotiate fresh terms with the World Cup winner.

However he is now able to speak to foreign clubs over a free transfer.

"We are talking with Rapha Varane, with Anthony Martial, and we triggered the options on Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Hannibal," Ten Hag said in his pre-Wigan press conference.

Asked how the discussions were going, he added: "I think that is an internal discussion between the club and the player."
